About

How it all started

From my early childhood, my Mother would give me different types of media to work with and allowed me to “do my own thing”. She always encouraged me to be creative. I miss her dearly, yet I am forever grateful for all she taught me and how she encouraged me to explore the art of crafting.

The beginning…

For over 30 years, I have been in the floral industry doing many creations for home decor and weddings. From owning my own Floral and Gift shop in the community to having my own home business “Designs by Rita” for the last fifteen years as a wedding florist.

I made the decision to redirect my creativity from the floral industry to fabric and even some wood working.

Over 35 years ago I found an interest in making clothes for my young children at the time. Garments weren’t always my favorite interest, yet the skills learned in making small clothes also introduced me to the many other items that could be made with fabric and a sewing machine!

Today…

Fast forward… I continue to work full time and do my “crafting” in my spare time.

I purchased my first single-needle embroidery machine several years ago so I could add an artistic element to the items I was creating and making. I then realized the more I could do if I had a multi-needle machine. So I made that happen a few years ago with the purchase of a six needle machine.

Other Interests that I have is a little bit of wood working. This is something my husband and I enjoy together and he is always encouraging me to try something new.
